Bloor’s Academy can be a very dangerous place. With the scheming Yewbeam aunts on the prowl, and the Bloors out to catch him, Henry will need Charlie’s help just to stay alive. But then Henry Yewbeam appears, twisted through time from the icy winter of 1916. Ĭharlies hopes that the new term at Bloor’s Academy will hold no nasty surprises. Read May 2010 and December 2019 Published September 2003 I listened to this title on Scribd.Ĭharlie Bone and the Time Twister – 4/5 stars The event that does happen in the story leads to a continuous appearance of another magical child (who notices the invisible boy), but this is mostly exploring the city and school Charlie lives in (as it should since we should understand where we are). We explore the ruins, meet other magical children, and begin a relationship with his uncle. This book was mostly a set up for the rest of the series as not a ton of things happen. (That’s probably were the similarities end though) The entire series Charlie is on the hunt for his father that Grandma Bone claims is dead Charlie doesn’t think so. Charlie Bone also seems to always be up to no good just like Harry Potter. We have an eleven year old boy who has terribly mean relatives and is sent to a special school that has children with special (magical) powers. This book reminded me of Harry Potter which is why I picked it up in the first place. His scheming aunts decide to send him to Bloor Academy, a school for geniuses where he uses his gifts to discover the truth despite all the dangers that lie ahead. This is what happened to Charlie Bone, and to some of the children he met behind the grim, gray walls of Bloor’s Academy. The fabulous powers of the Red King were passed down through his descendants, after turning up quite unexpectedly, in someone who had no idea where they came from. Read May 2010 and November 2019 Published January 2002 This is a middle grade series so go into it with that mindset! Also some of these have spoilers so don’t read the reviews unless you’ve read the book (or want to be spoiled). Each book will be reviewed in this post so if you haven’t read them all come back to my review once you have! If it ends up not working out great, I’ll post separate reviews. I’m gonna try to put my reviews for each book in a series all together (that way they are all together and not spread out over weeks at a time). I know the last book doesn’t match it bothers me too
